常用用法

这组词都有使某人或某物从一个地方到另一个地方的意思。其区别是：
1.carry表示“带、运、拿、搬”,没有明确的方向性,着重指用某一“方式”带或运；convey指以某种方式或由某一“途径”将人或物运送至某地；transport指把货物或人从一地运到另一地,含有“运送到目的地”的意思；transfer指把人或物从一处“转送”到另一处；而transmit的意思是“传播”“传送”。例如:
The seeds of dandelion were carried to the meadow by the wind.风把蒲公英的种子吹到草地上。
The truck conveyed the furniture.这辆货车运送家具。
Those passengers were transported by a Boeing 747.那批旅客是用波音747飞机运送的。
Please have my luggage transferred to the railway station.请把我的行李转到火车站去。
The station transmits from 6 a.m. until midnight.电台从早晨6点开始播音,一直持续到半夜。
2.carry可引申表示为“传染”；convey可借喻表示“表达”或“传达”；transfer则可引申表示“调动”。例如:

这三个词均可表示“送出”。其区别在于:send指通过命令、指导、武力、设备或内在能力把某人或某物送到另一个地方; route指按事先定好的路线投送某物,暗示一个接一个地投送; 而transmit表示将某物从一处传送到另一处,强调传送的方式,常指电波信号或信息的传送。例如:

He heard the call transmitted through Montreal.他接听从蒙特利尔转来的电话。
